Dr. Chiu’s mission is to show the world what’s possible in the realm of healing and human potential using his heart, hands, voice and mind. He brings the best of both Eastern and Western medicine together – combining the art of traditional healing with the latest breakthroughs in brain science, nutrition and lifestyle medicine.
Dr. Chiu uses Functional Medicine and Integrative Neurology to help people struggling with post-concussion syndrome, anxiety, brain fatigue, Hashimoto’s, Alzheimer’s and many other neurological and autoimmune symptoms experience a whole new level of health– by getting to the root cause of what’s ailing them.
He offers life-changing Brain and Autoimmune Healing programs to people from all over the world both online and in-person at KOBA family wellness located in Berkeley, California.
Dr. Chiu firmly believes in the power of education to transform the face of healthcare. He is the founder of the Modern Brain, an institute dedicated to empowering people to live a full life by maximizing their brains in a modern world– and to take control of their own health with the latest breakthroughs in brain science and natural medicine.
In 2013, he received the Educator of the Year Award from the International Association for Functional Neurology and Rehabilitation.
But before he was a doctor and professor and able to serve others, Dr. Chiu struggled with many vague health issues himself: mild depression, lack of motivation, low energy, brain fog and was constantly getting sick. The breaking point was after he got into a horrible car accident that nearly cost him his life.
Although he survived, he was seriously injured, left in chronic pain and unable to do all the things that he loved. He tried everything– conventional medicine, physical therapy, painkillers but nothing worked.
It wasn’t until he discovered natural medicine– and addressed the root cause for all his symptoms– that he finally began to heal. And one of the darkest times in his life turned out to be a blessing in disguise and led him to his calling.
